The Bronx Zoo

Friday, May 29, 2015

On April 19 we got to visit the Bronx Zoo. The very first nice and warm day after the winter we had here in the northeast, so you could imagine how crowded the lines were to enter and park at the Zoo.

We live so close, but due to everyday life and activities we do not get to visit often. Not all the animals were out and we got there at noon, yet we had a great time and the kids absolutely love spending the afternoon outdoors seeing the animals.

For those of you who know me, know that I have a real passion for photography and design.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from that fun afternoon!

We love seeing the animals, but one of my most favorite were the baby gorillas on top of their mama's back, we were able to see how nurturing and loving they were with each other, absolutely adorable!

We are a family of six, so going to the Bronx Zoo can be a bit expensive, but with the one year unlimited family membership it will pay for itself. We did not get the Family Premium Membership at the time, but we certainly will get it now that we are planning on visiting more often.

It is a great activity for everyone I know you and your kids will love seeing and learning about all of the animals. Just make sure you arrive early enough to get to see as much as you can of the Zoo and everything that it has to offer.

Celebration

We All had a wonderful time at D and D's wedding and here are some family pictures.
The bride was beautiful and the groom super excited to seal his life to the love of his life and partner in crime. Their wedding was beautiful and intimate enough.

The wedding was at La Zingara in Bethel. The staff was wonderful, the food was so superb, each ingredient in every dish was so fresh and simply delicious.

The cake was from Kelly's Sweet Rewards
If you are in the search for a custom beautiful cake, for any occasion I suggest you to give Kelly a try you will love every single bite of it. Her cakes are a little piece of art.
She even holds classes for kids and adults: cake decorating 101. (I need to take a class)

Such a lovely time and we all enjoy this union!
I cried in the ceremony mostly because I wish my mom were there, witnessing her little boy getting married. I am grateful for been able to be there accompanying my brother in such a special moment. Lucias was asleep at the end, she knows how to rock a party!

Donuts with daddy!

Thursday, October 2, 2014

Every school's PTO/PTA is in charge of activities to create diversity, fun and interaction between the school, parents students and staff. The PTOs in our town are wonderful. They have scheduled a variety of functions for many of us(parents) to enjoy!! Today There was donuts with daddy!
Mr. Kaoud and Lucia loved their morning time together in school.

- Thank you berry PTO and all the volunteers who dedicated their time to make activities like this such a success!

If you want to be part of this amazing group of women who work hard to make school just that more exciting I suggest you go to a monthly meeting and get involve. They are kid-friendly, they offer some great bake goods, and by going you will more involve in the wonderful things that are going to happen in the upcoming months. You can help sometimes from home (depending on the nedded help) and any lil' bit of your help is greatly appreciated it. Here are the links for Berry PTO and Rockwell PTO.

There is a wonderful Harvest Gala This Saturday Ocotber 4th, 2014 at the Amber Room Colonnade that will benefit the elementary schools in Bethel. Tickets are still available for sale.  Festivities will run from 6:30 pm until 11:00 pm and will include hors’ d’oeuvres, auctions - and the magic and comedy of Tony Liberati!  All proceeds directly benefit the Bethel Elementary Schools. It is a wonderful adult night out. If you have not gotten tickets yet you still have a chance to do so. It is a great night to celebrate while helping with the education of our children.

Charley

Saturday, September 20, 2014

The past two weeks have been very busy and hectic. My cat Charley came back home from the woods all hurt and hungry. About a few weeks ago Charley left us to explore his surroundings (like most cats do). I was so sad and thought I will never see him again until last Wednesday. When I heard Charley was back I went to see him right away. He actually came out of his hiding place and showed me he was pretty
wounded. His back two legs were hurt and he was hardly walking well. I then tried to hand feed him and he accepted. I tried to call him to come out, so I could check him better, when two raccoons came out of no where to where he was staying in the middle of the morning. I got so scared for Charley and I started to worry about what they could do to him. Then two guys scared them off and off they went. It was a very frightening moment. Those two racoons were not afraid of people at all. I guess they just smelled food and wanted to come and feast. Afraid of what could happen to Charley if he was left out all hurt, one of the guys rescued him and got him all safe in a box, so I could take him to the vet.

One vet (not our reg vet) said he was attacked by a bigger animal that shook him & broke his legs. As a Vets not much compassion for my cat.  In a few words they did not want anything to do with my poor Charley.

As they days passed and I saw a major improvement on my cat, he was feeling much better I took Charley to the best veterinary care (our vet Redding Veterinary Hospital) that you could find. Charley was actually hit by a car not attacked, like the other vet said.

To us Redding Veterinary Hospital is one of the best veterinary in the Farfield county area. I love everyone there from the staff to Dr. Philip E. Bolton & Dr. Susan E. Block. Every single person there has been amazing. They have taken such a great care of Charley that I can not thank them enough for the care, treatment and service provided by all of them. It is so true each animal in RVH is treated like family. Charley is getting better and I know he will be back to be his old self soon. I just wanted to extended my gratitude and let others know how amazing Redding Veterinary Hospital is.

If you are in the search for a vet, I highly recommend RVH. I know anyone who has a furry friend wants the best treatment for their pet, you will love to be part of such an amazing group of people who take the best care of your pet.

I wanted once again to thank you for the awesome support that you showed Lucas in this fun project (Reading Rockstars)! He was very excited to know that you were involved and it encourage him to work extra hard on his reading tasks. With your help together the students read and raised nearly $10,000 for our schools!

Lucas made top 5 in his grade, he was so proud of himself as well all are!
Thank you so very much!
